I have to stop the music for a few minutes, and it goes back to the higher volume, auto level back again. When I play a track on Apple Music ( which usually is some hardcore Metal), the start is very loud, but as the song progresses, and get's busier with the instruments and the vocals kicking in, there is a sudden drop in volume which is very noticeable(The volume control is still at 100%, while the volume drops, so I cannot just move the volume back up). I noticed the issue with the Mac, when I realised that the external speakers set at 100% volume, fed from the Mac at full volume sounds quiter, even compared to my windows laptop connected to the same speaker at around 40% volume.Īnother thing I have observed, is that there might be an auto leveller built into the Mac. The external speakers are 60W RMS and pretty loud for my room. On is the MacBook Air M1, and the other one an Intel Based windows laptop. I have 2 laptops, connected to the same speaker system. Not just on the internal speakers, but also while connected to external speakers connected through the 3.5mm Jack. Regardless imma set up an appointment at my local apple store and find out but i'd appreciate if anyone can save me the trip. It almost seemed like it randomly started playing this way. The thing that bothers me is, I don't remember it being like this the first few hours of using it and I haven't been blasting the speakers to risk damaging them. Like listen to the intro song (watch the latest season cause they change the audio quality) and tell me if you notice the voices are softer than the music in a noticeable way. When watching family guy (the latest season for reference) on hulu, I notice that the voices are lower compared to the music. Is anyone else noticing this? It's like the higher mid frequencies are great but the more low mid range is a little much giving it a slight muffled sound.Īnother thing I noticed is the stereo field is a bit weird. It sounds like there is some wool in the speaker or in the mouth of whoever is talking (I am over exaggerating a bit). I just got the new Macbook air with the M1 chip and am wondering if anyone else feels like the speakers sound a bit "boxy" or "muffled".
